Summary of Duties:
DAS (www.decisionaid.systems) is an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) decision support system for tree fruit and potato growers and pest managers in the Pacific Northwest. It provides easy-to-use pest management models and helps to optimize management decisions for certain insects and diseases. This position is for a development team member who would work to improve our application ecosystem. Duties would both backend and frontend development. Duties would include but are not limited to fine-tuning and improving performances of existing features, creating unit and integration tests to improve system reliability and ensure high-quality software delivery, implementing new features on the existing application, and reporting daily/weekly progress.
This is a Remote/Telework position with the successful candidate performing the position duties from their home location.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Three (3+) years of work experience as a web and application developer on a LAMP stack
Extensive experience with Laravel framework (v7+)
Extensive experience managing large MySQL databases
Experience with unit/integration testing (e.g. PHPUnit)
Experience with JavaScript libraries, like Vue or React
Experience using Git and the Gitflow workflow
Comfortable and efficient working independently, as well as part of a team
Preferably WA residence, otherwise available to work during Pacific Time office hours
US work permit
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with the WSU Decision Aid System codebase and infrastructure
Experience with containerization tools like Docker
Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
