Position Summary

This position will support a team responsible for platform ownership as well as solution development and process improvements. The functions the role supports are Tax and Legal Entity Management. This role will also support standing up controls & testing to ensure tasks are completed timely surrounding global administration, data and legal entity management and tax processes. As Tax and Legal Entity Management processes are key operations for the firm, the role will involve significant communication with personnel throughout Carlyle along with training our end users. This position offers great growth potential. Seeking a candidate who works well both independently and with large teams, is flexible and adaptable to diverse/dynamic needs, takes initiative to contribute and improve processes, and is eager to learn and develop.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support the product owner (AVP) responsible for ITR, TRACK and PACS (all Tax related systems) as well as ELM (Legal Entity Management system). Additionally, responsible for serving as data steward, ensuring quality of data, and serving as SME for the related data to support integrations and reporting initiatives:
    • Ability to understand Tax & Legal Entity stakeholders needs, effectively solicit feedback, and translate into a user story
    • Daily management and interaction with project team
    • Support users with functionality questions
    • Prepare training materials and facilitate training sessions
    • Assist in the preparation of management meeting decks for the CFO and CAO, activity reports of volume, exceptions and other key metrics related to Tax and Legal Entities
  • Assist in the analysis and support of the Legal Entity and Tax functions to explore opportunities to expand the programs and maximize process efficiencies; actively participate in system enhancement discussions with EPOS and GTS (IT)
  • Utilize application reporting capabilities to respond to current reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit assessments/reviews
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries and perform other related duties


  • Qualifications

    Knowledge and Experience
    • 3+ years of relevant professional experience required, Tax experience a plus
    • Thinks strategically yet executes tactically - emphasizes impact, improvement, and results
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
    • Able to perform analytical tasks with a high level of attention to detail
    • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information
    • Works independently yet collaboratively
    • Experienced in methodical problem solving to identify solutions to complex business problems
    • Able to drive disparate constituencies to common ground -- consulting experience a plus
    Education and Certifications
    • Bachelor's Degree, required
    • Finance/Accounting certifications a plus
    Position-Specific Technical Requirements
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
    • Appian experience is a plus
    • Jira experience is a plus
    • Experience with providing training support a plus
    • Experience with data management, reporting analysis
    • Experience managing and implementing successful projects a plus
