The Product Assistant ll, will be based in our company headquarters in Winston-Salem, N.C. This role is a key contributor in delivering the Hanes Full Potential plan. The deliverables for this role will focus on collaboration with cross functional teams to execute approved business plans and merchandise assortments while placing the consumer at the forefront of every decision. With limited supervision, the candidate will work independently on assigned projects but also contribute to collaborative efforts within the overall team. Must exhibit initiative for optimal effectiveness and be able to easily multi-task across numerous projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Offering strategy
    • May work with sales teams to gather data in support of offering strategy decision-making
    • Conduct ad hoc competitor analysis/ data gathering (e.g., in-store benchmarking of competitor rack or shelf space, price points or online market assessments)
  • Garment/ product design and development
    • Conduct tactical follow-ups to ensure Line Design & Development calendar is tracking, coordinating with product team
    • Conduct analysis for item-level target margin decisions
    • Organize materials for milestone meeting; protos, strike offs, color swatches
    • Initial data entry for master style set-up
  • Sell to the customer
    • Arrange merchandise and samples for sales meetings, photo shoots, buyer ad, review seeding and influencer seeding
    • Create sell-in sheets and seasonal product presentations for key customers
    • Mail samples out to customers
  • Plan production/ produce the range
    • Enter merchandise and assortment information into planning systems/ style master
    • Support inventory analysis
  • Sell to the consumer
    • Support analysis of consumer needs, preferences, and shopping behaviors

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-4 years of merchandise planning, marketing, or retail management/ direct to consumer experience
  • Experience and passionate focus on merchandise as a consumer advocate.
  • Product and operational knowledge with experience in collaborating and partnering cross-functionally to drive the business.
  • Experience in contributing to analysis of business opportunities. Specifically, experience in analysis and understanding and contributing to learnings to drive consistent results.
  • Strategic mindset who contributes to identifying opportunities, influence decision makers to move to execution using both quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Analytical skills and conceptual creative ability
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to development of institutional policies/procedures and effect change
  • Experience building iconic brands
  • Experience in contributions to leveraging consumer data to drive sales growth.
  • Computer skills, including an advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
