The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia seeks an experienced Clinical Instructor with a background in Adult Health Medical-Surgical Nursing for a part time, tenure-ineligible, salaried Clinical Instructor position. The start date of this position is the Spring 2022 semester.

Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Nursing, with two years of previous experience in Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing. Candidates must have or be eligible for Licensure in Virginia and will be required to obtain a license by the start date of the position. Preference will be given to applicants with a DNP or PhD in Nursing. Applicants with a certification in Adult Health Medical-Surgical Nursing are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties include:

  • Direct supervision of students (approximately 20 hrs per week) in an Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing clinical environment or simulation center.

  • Evaluation of student work (providing oral feedback and grading student written work).

This is a part time 20 hour per week, 9-month appointment.

An official offer of employment is contingent on a successful background check and completion of a medical screening as required by the University of Virginia Health System.

COVID Vaccination Requirement

The University of Virginia expects all current and new employees (UVA Health System and Academic), to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
