Job DetailsPosition Type Full TimeEducation Level 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage Up to 50% Job Shift AnyJob Category EducationAdmission Counselor for Diversity Recruitment Status: ExemptPurpose: The Admission Counselor for Diversity Recruitment is primarily responsible for a geographic recruitment territory and the development and implementation of the University's recruitment plan for increasing underrepresented student populations through programming as well as enrollment and net revenue goals. This includes meeting with students, families, and other constituents to provide them with general information about the University and the requirements for admission. This position provides administrative oversight of the admission funnel and uses discretion and independent judgment regarding making admission decisions.Duties:
Building relationships to effectively recruit students through the inquiry and application funnelsDevelop programs, events, activities, and marketing materials to assist in the recruitment of underrepresented studentsConduct admission interviewsConduct phone callsUtilizing paper and electronic communicationsEmbrace the utilization of technological resources, including social media and virtual engagementReview applicantsMake admission decisionsMake scholarship recommendationsDevelop and manage a recruiting territoryCommunicate and build relationships with prospective students, guidance counselors, and other personnel related to the assigned territoryExtensive travel is required in the Fall and Spring of each yearOrganization of Campus visits, group visits, open house programs, and related campus activities for prospective students, parents, and guidance counselorsResearch and implement recruitment opportunities both on and off-campusRepresent the University at various events and speaking engagementsWork collaboratively with academic departments, support services, and Diversity and Inclusion Office in order to plan and recruit at on and off-campus events, including open houses and information sessions. Serve on committees within the Mount and externally to assist in fostering campus support for underrepresented students when applicableOther duties as assignedPrimary Contacts: Dean of Admission, Admission staff, prospective students and families, academic department chairpersons, Conlan Center staff, Student Affairs staff, Athletic Director and coaches, Project EXCEL staff, and other members of the University community, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer

Education: Bachelors degree required
Experience: Requires over one year up to and including two years of related experience A demonstrated ability and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Knowledge and work experience in the recruitment of traditional students in a university setting and experience working with students from underrepresented populations; experience in marketing, sales, advertising, or business may also be considered. Possess a demonstrated passion for increasing the underrepresented student population in a suburban, higher education environment. Must be motivated by personal accountability for individual goals.
Preference is given to those with previous experience in admissions/enrollment management. Experience in multicultural recruitment, international admission, college access, fluency in Spanish, and/or strategic use of Slate Technolutions is a plus.
Specialized Training: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software; web page editor; new media technologies including social media, CARS, and SLATE, and valid drivers license with availability to travel. Adaptability to changing software systems. Ability to articulate and promote the value of an undergraduate liberal arts education; demonstrate strong interpersonal public speaking and organizational skills, a sense of humor, flexibility, and creativity; demonstrate strong written, telephone, and electronic (email and internet) communication skills; communicate information clearly and concisely and listen well to others.
