The ACH/Wires Specialists' role is to support the internal and external members of the credit union by providing exceptional service and ensuring all transactions are completed in the most efficient manner. The department is the central location responsible for the processing of all incoming/outgoing wires, domestic and foreign, in addition to overseeing ACH origination, posting, return and research functions.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to Federal Regulations and NACHA rules and regulations as they pertain to Electronic Funds Transfer
  • Keeps abreast of all regulations and requirements pertaining to Wire transfers and ACH, including the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Process daily Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, exception handling, returns, reclamations, disputes, stop payment maintenance and review.
  • Process foreign and domestic wire transactions
  • Follow the credit union's wire call back procedure for outgoing wires, based on daily limits
  • Perform OFAC checks on all incoming and outgoing wire transfers, in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act. Seek supervisory assistance with any matches
  • Maintain records on all ACH originations in accordance with NACHA Rules and Regulations and more specifically internal rules related to the ACH origination process
  • Assist with processing the Origination files through the ACH and Federal Reserve Bank software
  • Assist with processing ACH origination returns
  • Perform other accounting and clerical duties assigned by the Electronic Payments Manager
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, college-level courses and/or degree are preferred
  • Experience working in a financial Institution is required; experience working with ACH/Wires is preferred
  • General accounting knowledge that provides the ability to write and process vouchers between general ledgers and member's accounts
  • Working Knowledge of Fedline, Symitar, and all of the MS Office Suite applications
  • Ability to calculate simple financial formulas
