RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Fairfax, VA.Essential Functions:

• Accounts Payable Specialist will process invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational policies and procedures
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to verify receipt of goods or services
• Code invoices with appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers
• Prepare and perform check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers in a timely manner
• Reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies in a proactive manner
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain vendor files and ensure compliance with 1099 reporting requirements
• As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues
• Collaborate with internal departments to streamline accounts payable processes and improve efficiency
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions
• Experience with Solomon software is highly preferred
• Prior experience in a non-profit organization is a plus, but not required
