Accounting Manager

Company with consistent top line year over year revenue growth is adding a position to their team. This role will report directly to the CFO and will have responsibility for oversight and management of the accounting department and finance function. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of leadership experience and the a strong knowledge of US GAAP and complex accounting processes. A CPA is not a requirement but would be a nice to have.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager include:

  • Lead monthly financial close process
  • Prepare recurring journal entries and review entries prepared by accounting staff
  • Review of P&L statement including review of coding and providing feedback
  • Prepare internal financial management reports, (i.e. performance analysis, results to plan and customer analysis)
  • Prepare various GL analyses/reports and account reconciliations
  • Review and approval of account reconciliations; ability to recognize inappropriate balances and transactions with follow-up and resolution.
  • Monitor and review AP expense and voucher accruals, customer rebates, payroll, Capital Expenditures, transfers, analysis of G/L accounts, expenses.
  • Leads the team in automation & streamlining of existing accounting procedures with the goal of implementing "best practices".
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by CFO
  • Provide leadership, supervision and development of staff
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance/streamline business processes.
  • Calculate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual rebates for National accounts.

Requirements of the Accounting Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related degree.
  • 5+ of experience in accounting and/or financial accounting positions
  • Experience in working with multiple departments and cross-functional teams
  • Leadership and staff development qualities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Hands-on user experience with accounting software as well as solid computer skills including Advanced Excel, MS Word, Access, etc.
