In this role, you will:

• Complete and maintain general ledger transactions, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports for units affiliated with the National Shared Services Center.
• Assist with month-end close process by preparing and analyzing monthly journal entries and reporting documents for Gannett Business Units.
• Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation.
• Demonstrate initiative to resolve any balancing issues in the reconciliations.
• Participate in special accounting projects as required.
• Perform analysis and other ad-hoc assignments for complex business units.
  

Here's what you need:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and other computer applications/software to provide fiscal analysis.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including: US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
• Strong systems orientation including MS Office.
• Must be able to work in an organized, fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on superior customer service and teamwork.
