POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Manager is responsible for developing and expanding relationships with assigned Electrical Contractors, Consultants and End Users for the promotion and sales of Vertiv products. The Account Manager works closely with Thermal, Power, Channel and Service Sales Reps, within the territory, to further develop Vertiv's overall relationship with these accounts. Through regular customer visits the Account Manager establishes and strengthens key relationships with current and potential clients and develops collateral material to propose meaningful solutions. The Account Manager organizes internal resources appropriate for each customer opportunity and delivers solutions which exceed customer expectations. This position will contribute to overall sales for the Vertiv Factory Direct office that covers the greater Columbus Ohio Metropolitan area. The Account Manager manages all sales activities at assigned contractors, distributors, and consultants. The Account Manager works independently, is creative, and a critical thinker. The Account Manager is required to meet customer demands for innovative solutions to their data center service needs by offering the most competitive thorough product and pricing plan to meet the customer's needs while exceeding sales quotas and business objectives. The Account Manager role requires travel within the territory to build relationships and visit sites to propose solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and expand relationships with assigned Electrical Contractors, Consultants and End Users for the promotion and sales of Vertiv AC Power products
  • Interface with Vertiv Thermal, Channel and Service Sales Reps, within the territory, to broaden Vertiv's overall relationship with assigned accounts.
  • Generate sales in excess of quota for assigned accounts in a manner aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure a high caliber customer response and satisfaction. Communicate accurately and effectively with all customers and Vertiv sales Associates, culminating an integrated team sales effort.
  • Specific duties will include, but not be limited to: preparing and following up on system quotations, general sales support, prospecting for new accounts, regular in-field customer visits, and preparing customer submittals
  • Competency in all aspects of internal Vertiv sales and order entry functions and policies.
  • Establish competency across all Vertiv products and services.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of technology sales experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or Communications preferred and/or equivalent sales experience
  • Proven successful experience in large account sales and account management in a similar industry - prefer business to business outside sales experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and the ability to manage multiple priorities is required along with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of critical support equipment operations for both mechanical and power products.
  • Team player with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors, engineers, consultants, and end-users for Data Center applications Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • 25% travel required
