Essential Job Functions

  • Member of 7-person HVAC shop, part of 60-person project team, executing facility operations & maintenance (O&M) and repair contract of 55 buildings comprising nearly two million square feet of space on a military installation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the Niagara/Tridium platform to control/monitor building systems. Preferred specific experience on LON and BACnet controllers. In addition, desired experience working with proprietary building software (Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.) and their respective hardware.
  • May perform difficult installation tasks involving assembly, testing, calibrating, and adjusting of temperature control and environmental control systems such as air conditioning plants, environmental control systems, air distribution systems, complex dual equipment cooling installations, specialized refrigerated warehouses and facilities, evaporative mechanical ventilation, and dehumidification systems.
  • Installs new or repaired component and performs complex modifications of systems and components in accordance with applicable electrical publications and directives, and will maintain and repair specialized laboratory equipment such as fume hoods, deionized water systems, etc.
  • Performs complex repair of components, such as compressors, condensers, heat pump regulators, fluid & refrigerant gas line valves, meters, and gauges, digital controlled devices, hydraulic heating and cooling, and economizer systems
  • Complies with all industry, company, and site safety standards and policies.
  • On-call rotation at fixed intervals for after-hours emergency calls.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Required Niagara N4 certification.
  • Level 2 Niagara Certification is a plus.
  • Other preferred building automated control systems certifications a plus.
  • 5 years HVAC and/or Controls experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances required for installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to follow maintenance instructions, service, diagnose systems and complete repairs.
  • Able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.

Working Conditions
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, and motor vehicle report.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation.
  • Maintain valid State of Michigan driver's license and remain insurable to operate Company vehicles.
