I.

JOB SUMMARY:




The Electrician is responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, installing, and making repairs of all electrical equipment and machines.




II.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




· Install, repair, construct, and modify electronic and electrical equipment and replace faulty parts as needed, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners, and photo electric devices. Analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings required to make these repairs and installations.

· Repair various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and control systems, power and distribution control equipment, measuring and recording control devices, indicating devices and gauges, etc.

· Maintaining, installing, and repairing all communication cables or wiring. Making power cable splices.

· Perform preventative maintenance and/or repairs on production equipment.

· Interact with production employees, management, and other maintenance technicians to improve and maximize plant and machine/equipment output, efficiency, quality, and safety.

· Install wire and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, converting and corrugating machinery.

· Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drives (i.e. AC and DC)

· Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.

· Maintain clean and organized work areas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:




Education:





Certified Electrician


Experience:



2-5 years' experience or equivalent experience in becoming a Certified Electrician






Skills:



Ability to read blueprint and technical manuals.

Ability to read electrical block diagrams, schematics as well as PLC ladder logic.

Arc flashed trained highly preferred.

Familiar with Lock Out Tag procedures and requirements

Ability to evaluate design flaws and implement corrective actions

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

Non-climate controlled manufacturing warehouse environment with constant noise and frequent vibrations.

Working around equipment and machinery




Equipment Used:

Industrial machines (wood working)

Meter, arc flash, suit, basic tools.

Boom lift and forklift


Essential Physical Tasks:

Overhead work required

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.

Constant standing, walking, handling, grasping, talking, hearing with eye/hand/foot coordination

Ability to lift, pull, push 50lbs occasionally and 25-49lbs consistently
