Under the direction of the Shipping & Receiving Manager, the Shipper will package and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous domestic and international customer orders according to established procedures and applicable regulations. The Shipper will also be responsible for receiving incoming shipments and fulfilling internal and external customer orders prior to shipment.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Package and prepares appropriate documents to support out-going shipments, e.g. billings of lading, packing slip, commercial invoice, hazardous goods declarations, in accordance with company procedures and appropriate regulations, e.g. DOT, IATA etc.
  • Enter shipping information and Bill of Ladings into ERP system after shipment.
  • Utilize small carrier software (UPS/FEDEX) to process domestic and international shipments
  • Schedule pickup with forwarders and LTL carriers
  • Communicate with sales and warehouse teams to resolve transportation issues
  • Assist receiving team
  • Maintain safe workspace using 5S principals

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent.
  • Six months related experience/training of domestic and international shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous goods.
  • DOT /IATA certifications (expired or current)

Preferred experience:
  • Previous Forklift experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
  • SAP/ SAPWM, UPS or FEDEX Software Experience

License/Certification:
  • DOT/IATA certifications (expired or current)

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • FT: 9am-5:30pm or PT: 12pm-5:30pm

This is a first shift position. This position is to support new plant operations at 12255 W Carmen Ave. For the first several months of training, the incumbent will work at 407 N 13th St., before transitioning to the new building.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
